Companies that invest in design tend to be more profitable and have a faster growth than those that do not. At the macro level, there is a positive correlation between the use of design and national competitiveness, but despite its im-portance not all Governments have programs of support to the design at state level. This lack in policy design is evident in the Mediterranean Arch Euroregion (EURAM). Along this axis, there are 50% of the total traffic of goods from Spain and represents 40% of its GDP. Joint design policies for the EURAM Euroregion could get the strengthening at the microeconomic level (of companies that com-prise the industrial infrastructure) and macro of each one of the regions belonging to the axis of the Mediterranean Corridor. Based on this, the present thesis raises different methodologies that help define the priorities for the characterization of a model of a design system for the EURAM (Catalonia, Valencia and the Balearic Islands). This research has a mainly qualitative approach. For the analysis of design sys-tems established a relationship with the framework for the measurement of inno-vation in the Oslo Manual, as a tool that allows a multifactorial relationship be-tween stakeholders and the value chain, allowing a specific weight to these fac-tors within the system. A design system for the EURAM would encourage the relationship between design and the different stakeholders involved in the inno-vation of the industrial infrastructure. In this way, is show the strategic role that has the design to stimulate the economy of a region.
