Manifestações bucais em doentes renais crônicos: revisão de literatura

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) impacts on metabolic disorders with general and oral health consequences. The literatura describes salivary alterations, periodontal diseases, presence of infections, dysgeusia, mucosal lesions, uremic breath and xerostomia as oral manifestations of KCD. Through a literature review with articles published in full in the Portuguese or English languages between 2014 and 2019, indexed in Pubmed and Lilacs databases, this study aimed to determine the main oral manifestations founs in chronic kidney patients. The results showed the presence of soft tissue, supportive and dental manifestations, as well as fungal infections, alterations in the palate and xerostomia in various times of treatment. It is concluded form this literature review that the main oral manifestations of chronic kidney disease are periodontitis and gengivitis.
