Partial Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) Using R

First-generation multivariate data analysis techniques, such as multiple regression, logistic regression, and analysis of variance, belong to the core set of statistical methods employed by researchers to empirically test hypothesized relationships between variables of interest. Numerous researchers in various scientifc disciplines have applied these methods to generate fndings that have signifcantly shaped the way we see the world today. These techniques have three important limitations in common, namely (1) the postulation of a simple model structure, (2) requiring that all variables can be considered observable, and (3) the assumption that all variables are measured without error (Haenlein & Kaplan, 2004).
