Given the current scenario, companies need to be attentive to social issues and assume their role as transforming agents, because in the search for social solutions they may discover new business possibilities. This article aims to reflect on the conceptual aspect of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and how it interferes with the economic structure of Micro and Small Enterprises (SMEs) in the State of Santa Catarina. In addition to the literature base, the article presents the researches developed by SEBRAE, used to contextualize the scenario experienced by MSEs, and the results obtained through actions related to social aspects. The study found that there is still a small number of micro and small companies that seek to invest in actions related to CSR as a market differential, but it is growing and those who already have this awareness are supporting the economic mismatches.
